Water is a must requisite for every Industry. Raw water entering in an industrial plant often needs treatment to meet tight quality specifications. Water Treatment is used to optimize most water-based industrial processes, such as heating, cooling, processing, cleaning, and rinsing so that operating costs and risks are reduced. Water is essential for life. Agriculture, Industry and house-hold usage are the key users of water. By 2030, according to NITI Aayog report the country’s water demand is projected to be twice the available supply, implying severe water scarcity for hundreds of millions and an eventual loss of around 6% of the country’s GDP. The industry is bound to suffer in terms of availability of water, quality of water, the impact of scarcity on process control and cost of water. In this perspective Waste/Effluent water treatment, Water Harvesting, Reducing Water Consumption, Reusing of Water & Recycling of Water (3R’s) etc. have immense importance to solve the water problem in all facets of life, including industry, domestic and agriculture.
